Terza tappa del Girone Rosso di A2 per i biancorossi di coach Christian, che mercoledì alle 20:30 ospiteranno al PalaTrieste Nardò Basket. Queste le dichiarazioni della vigilia del coach.
“Il nostro obiettivo era partire bene e migliorare partita dopo partita. Da questo punto di vista abbiamo fatto fin qui un lavoro eccezionale. Stiamo crescendo, abbiamo iniziato con due vittorie e sono ovviamente felice di questo. L’aspetto incoraggiante di questa squadra è che abbiamo ampi margini di miglioramento così come le qualità per superare i momenti di difficoltà. Stiamo trovando il modo di vincere le partite anche diversamente e questo sarà davvero importante con il passare del tempo”.
Su Nardò e il livello del campionato: “Un aspetto importante di questo campionato e del corso della stagione è che ogni squadra ha un ottimo livello in termini di grinta. Ogni squadra ha grande orgoglio e grandi giocatori. Per noi non si tratta solo della prossima sfida con Nardò, che ha in roster Russ Smith, uno dei migliori giocatori a livello individuale in tutta Italia e probabilmente del basket europeo. Nardò cè una squadra davvero talentuosa: non è però tanto una questione di avversario, di cui dobbiamo avere sempre grande rispetto, ma piuttosto che siamo in questo percorso per trovare il meglio di noi stessi ed essere in grado di giocare sempre al meglio contro una buona squadra. Dobbiamo essere concentrati su questo aspetto nel miglior modo possibile. Di certo non abbiamo ancora giocato il nostro miglior basket, ma abbiamo le qualità per farlo”.
Sull’importanza del sostegno dei tifosi: “Penso che il supporto dei nostri tifosi sia sempre fantastico. Abbiamo sentito la loro vicinanza nell’ultima partita a Chiusi e in ogni posto in cui abbiamo giocato il loro supporto è stato incredibile. È bello giocare sentendo il sostegno della propria gente. Abbiamo bisogno di loro e di sentire la loro fiducia in questa squadra. Il loro supporto è per noi un enorme vantaggio”.

“Our goal was to start well and improve with each game. From this point of view, we have done an exceptional job so far. We are growing, we started with two victories, and I am obviously happy about that. The encouraging aspect of this team is that we have plenty of room for improvement and the qualities to overcome difficult moments. We are finding ways to win games differently, and this will be really important as time goes on”.
On Nardò and the level of the championship: “An important aspect of this championship and the course of the season is that every team has a high level of determination. Every team has great pride and great players. For us, it’s not just about the upcoming challenge with Nardò, which has Russ Smith on its roster, one of the best players in all of Italy and probably European basketball. Nardò is a truly talented team. However, it’s not so much about the opponent, whom we always must respect greatly, but that we are on this journey to bring out the best in ourselves and be able to play our best against a good team. We need to focus on this aspect in the best possible way. We certainly haven’t played our best basketball, but we have the qualities to do so”.
On the importance of fan support: “I think our fans’ support is always fantastic. We felt their closeness in the last game in Chiusi, and everywhere we have played, their support has been incredible. It’s great to play with the support of our own people. We need them and their confidence in this team. Their support is a huge advantage for us”.
