Trieste, 7 maggio 2025 – Pallacanestro Trieste mette a segno un colpo di mercato che mette in chiaro ancora una volta le ambizioni della società per l’ultima parte della stagione, in una regular season che vede i giuliani già inseriti nella griglia per i prossimi playoff LBA: Kylor Kelley vestirà infatti il biancorosso fino alla fine della stagione in corso.
Centro di 213 centimetri (7 piedi), classe 1997, Kelley porta a Trieste una storia di perseveranza e una specializzazione d’élite che lo hanno portato fino al palcoscenico più prestigioso del mondo, l’NBA.

Partito da un piccolo liceo nell’Oregon, Kelley ha navigato attraverso diversi livelli del college basketball, da un programma NAIA a un community college, fino alla prestigiosa Pac-12 con Oregon State. Qui ha lasciato un segno indelebile, diventando per due anni consecutivi leader della conference e secondo a livello nazionale per stoppate. Durante le sue due stagioni a Oregon State, ha registrato una media di 3.4 stoppate a partita e detiene i record atenei per stoppate in singola stagione (107) e in carriera (211). Le sue prestazioni difensive gli sono valse l’inserimento per due volte nel Pac-12 All-Defensive Team.
Nonostante non sia stato scelto al Draft NBA 2020, Kelley ha intrapreso un cammino professionistico che lo ha visto protagonista in diverse leghe e continenti, dimostrando grande adattabilità e determinazione. Ha giocato in NBA G League con squadre come Austin Spurs, Raptors 905, Maine Celtics e South Bay Lakers, affermandosi come uno specialista difensivo di alto livello. Nella stagione 2023-24, con i Maine Celtics, è stato nominato nell’NBA G League All-Defensive Team e ha guidato la lega per stoppate con una media di 2.9 a partita.
Kelley ha avuto anche esperienze significative in Europa, giocando nella British Basketball League (BBL) con i London Lions, dove è stato inserito nel BBL Defensive Team of the Year e ha guidato il campionato in stoppate con 2.9 di media. Ha avuto anche una breve parentesi in Danimarca con i Bakken Bears e in Canada nella CEBL con i Calgary Surge, raggiungendo la finale del campionato.

Trieste, May 7, 2025 – Pallacanestro Trieste has landed a major signing that once again underscores the club’s ambitions for the final part of the season. With the team already positioned for the upcoming LBA playoffs, Kylor Kelley will wear the biancorosso jersey through the end of the current season.
A 7-foot (213 cm) center born in 1997, Kelley brings to Trieste a story of perseverance and elite specialization that has taken him all the way to the world’s most prestigious stage, the NBA.

Starting from a small high school in Oregon, Kelley navigated through various levels of college basketball, from an NAIA program to a community college, and finally to the prestigious Pac-12 conference with Oregon State. There, he left an indelible mark, becoming the conference leader and finishing second nationally in blocks for two consecutive years. During his two seasons at Oregon State, he averaged 3.4 blocks per game and holds the school records for blocks in a single season (107) and career (211). His defensive performances earned him two selections to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team.
Despite not being selected in the 2020 NBA Draft, Kelley embarked on a professional journey that saw him feature in various leagues and continents, demonstrating great adaptability and determination. He played in the NBA G League with teams like the Austin Spurs, Raptors 905, Maine Celtics, and South Bay Lakers, establishing himself as a high-level defensive specialist. In the 2023-24 season with the Maine Celtics, he was named to the NBA G League All-Defensive Team and led the league in blocks with an average of 2.9 per game.
Kelley also had significant international experiences, playing in the British Basketball League (BBL) with the London Lions, where he was named to the BBL Defensive Team of the Year and led the league in blocks with 2.9 per game. He also had brief stints in Denmark with the Bakken Bears and in Canada in the CEBL with the Calgary Surge, reaching the league finals.
