Coach Christian ha presentato dalla sala stampa del PalaTrieste la gara di domani con UEB Cividale, primo impegno ufficiale di Supercoppa per i biancorossi. Ecco le sue parole:
“Per questo gruppo è una gioia solo essere in palazzetto ogni giorno e lavorare per un obiettivo comune. Questi ragazzi hanno una passione incredibile per il basket e per questa città. Sono tutti emozionati per questo viaggio. Sono contenti di vedere dove si trovavano nella prima metà di preseason e delle possibilità di quello che possiamo realizzare se continuiamo a crescere come stiamo facendo. La squadra è in ottima forma, ci sentiamo molto competitivi. Affrontiamo ogni giorno al massimo e abbiamo voglia di affrontare avversari di qualità”.
Sulla squadra e sull’arrivo di Justin Reyes: “La squadra si sta allenando bene. Abbiamo cercato di costruirla per creare un ambiente collaborativo per cui ogni volta che si inserisce un nuovo elemento come Justin Reyes non può che rendere migliore la squadra. È emozionante avere un gruppo che migliora ogni volta che inseriamo un nuovo componente. Credo che una delle cose migliori sia che in squadra tutti capiscano che ognuno ha bisogno degli altri. Che il talento che ognuno di noi ha deve essere messo al servizio della squadra per poter rendere al meglio. Sapere di avere Justin con noi è importante proprio perché sappiamo di avere un nuovo giocatore che può aiutarci a essere più competitivi”.
Sulla UEB Cividale, già affrontata nella vittoriosa finale del Memorial Bortoluzzi: “Abbiamo un grandissimo rispetto per Cividale e per i loro calorosi tifosi. I loro giocatori si vede che giocano per i tifosi. Sono molto connessi con la fanbase e quell’energia si percepisce quando ci si gioca. Siamo emozionati di giocarci una seconda volta e di averli come rivali in questo torneo e poi durante il campionato. Dovremo farci valere una seconda volta. Abbiamo l’opportunità per la prima volta in preseason di capire quanto siamo migliorati e vedere cosa abbiamo imparato dalla prima sfida. Ho grande rispetto per gli avversari e per quello che fanno. Sarà un’opportunità per noi per approfondire a che punto siamo e cosa dobbiamo migliorare”.
Infine, un commento sullo spirito della squadra: “Abbiamo costruito uno spirito collettivo incredibile fino a questo punto della stagione e dobbiamo continuare così. Dobbiamo mantenere questo livello per il campionato: uno spirito di resilienza, di serenità nel quotidiano, di competitività ogni giorno. Avere la capacità di cogliere le occasioni quando la posta diventa alta. Da qui in avanti lo vedremo sempre più spesso e noi dovremo continuare a crescere per farci trovare pronti quando la posta in gioco sarà alta”.

On UEB Cividale, already faced in the victorious final of the Bortoluzzi Memorial: “We have great respect for Cividale and their warm fans. Their players can be seen playing for the fans. They are very connected with the fan base and that energy can be felt when we play them. We are excited to play them a second time and to have them as rivals in this tournament and then during the championship. We will have to assert ourselves a second time. We have the opportunity for the first time in the preseason to understand how much we have improved and see what we learned from the first match.
