La quarta giornata di campionato porta Trieste da prima in classifica a punteggio pieno in trasferta in Emilia Romagna, per affrontare la Benedetto XIV Cento, reduce dalla sconfitta in casa con Piacenza e quartultima in graduatoria con soli 2 punti. Ancora fuori dai giochi Filloy e con Campogrande in Lista N per onor di firma, l’ex di turno è Federico Mussini.

Il lancio della palla a due dà il via al match, con i padroni di casa che muovono il primo attacco, senza però segnare. Trieste, invece, muove subito il punteggio grazie alla tripla di Reyes, subito imitato da Archie. Gli ospiti tornano in attacco e replicano con Brooks, dall’altra parte è ancora Archie a timbrare il cartellino. Prosegue il festival delle triple e anche Candussi si iscrive a referto, dalle parti di Cento è Benvenuti che segna dalla media. Ritmo velocissimo in questo inizio gara, valorizzato da un Benvenuti indiavolato. Reyes partecipa alla festa servito da un eccellente Ruzzier. Poco dopo è Deangeli a segnare dalla lunetta e ad incrementare il vantaggio, che tocca le 5 lunghezze (14-9). Le due squadre dimostrano entrambe gran voglia di vincere, in particolare i padroni di casa. Mussini serve Toscano per un reverse lay-up da antologia, ma c’è poco tempo per gioire: Trieste ha già completato la transizione e Brooks colpisce dai 6 e 75, costringendo la panchina di Cento a fermare il cronometro dopo 6 minuti sul punteggio di 11 a 17. L’ultimo quarto inizia con l’errore da fuori di Deangeli, Cento è intenzionata a chiudere il recupero e Sabin si mette in proprio segnando dai 6 e 75. Brooks colpisce da sotto e tiene i suoi a due possessi di vantaggio, i padroni di casa non segnano e Trieste torna in attacco, godendo di ben 2 rimbalzi offensivi prima di trovare il fondo della retina con Reyes. Cento persevera nel tentare la via del tiro da fuori, Trieste cerca invece il ferro e lo trova ancora con Brooks, tornando ad un più rassicurante +8 (64-72) dopo poco più di due minuti.
